Judah Onyx, Jade’s elder brother, was eight years older than her, making him twenty-six. Like Jade, he was goaded by their father to join the Velvet Military. Currently, he serves in the Mechanical Department, fulfilling his role as Machinery Specialist.
Judah graduated in Land, Major in Machinery eight years ago with a superb result for his final year project. He invented a cutting-edge cell that could store power, enabling a Richo bike (a larger and heavy-duty version of a motorbike) to run for an impressive 120 hours on just a three-hour charge. Such an accomplishment was truly remarkable for a student.
Judah loved fiddling with machines. He would spend hours modifying his vehicles, his weapons, and sometimes his sibling’s bikes. Although it wasn’t Jade’s intention to flaunt her extreme souped-up bike at school, she couldn't deny that it was pretty awesome when people admired her sleek aqua blue ride. Having Judah as her brother was a real advantage, as she could rely on his expertise to fix things when needed.
Jade had another older brother, Gerome Ryder, whom her father, Rhu Onyx, took under his care. Gerome's father, Sergeant Arbone Ryder, tragically lost his life during a sudden invasion by Monad when Gerome was just eight years old. Arbone Ryder and Rhu Onyx were close friends, having served together as sergeants in the same district until Ryder was transferred to Weatherspoon, one of the twelve states in Velvet. Sadly, Gerome's mother also a victim to the attack. After the invasion, Rhu Onyx discovered young Gerome hiding in the basement of the Ryder house, unaware that his parents had already passed away. Gerome had been waiting there with a hopeful heart, hoping for his parents' return. Rhu took him in and since then, Gerome became a part of their family, treated with the same love and care as Judah and Jade by both Rhu and Marteena Onyx. They embraced him as if he were their own child, creating a bond that made him an integral part of their lives.
Despite his reserved and enigmatic nature, Gerome had a deep passion for the country's most popular game, SOAR. He was gifted with the innate ability to jump twelve feet high, which gave him a big advantage in the game. The ability to achieve such heights without any aid or specialized equipment was truly remarkable and beyond the reach of ordinary individuals. Most people could only manage jumps of around seven feet, while trained soldiers might push themselves to reach heights of eight to nine feet with great effort. For Gerome, this exceptional talent was a precious gift, adding to his already impressive soldier-like abilities. People admired him for possessing such a rare and extraordinary gift, and he took great pride in it. Currently serving in the Air Force as a Master Sergeant, Gerome's rank was nothing short of remarkable, especially considering he had achieved it within just five years of entering military service.
